Ten things you can do to leave a legacy to the Canadian Association of the Deaf

  1. Prepare a will. Without a will, you lose control of the possessions you worked a lifetime to acquire.
  2. Leave a gift in your will for the Canadian Association of the Deaf (CAD). Imagine the positive impact it would have on every child, youth and adult who is deaf or hard of hearing if
    everyone made a bequest.
  3. Leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the assets in your will to CAD. The provision can be part of a new will or added to your existing will as a codicil.
  4. Name CAD as the beneficiary of your pension plan.
  5. Purchase a new life insurance policy naming CAD as the beneficiary.
  6. Name CAD as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy.
  7. Remember a deceased loved one with a memorial gift to CAD.
  8. Encourage family and friends to leave gifts to CAD in their wills.
  9. Ask your financial advisor to include charitable giving as part of their counsel to other clients.
  10. Consider designating assets as a charitable gift to CAD. Your financial and/or legal advisor can provide information on the significant tax savings that such gifts may provide.
