New Disability Savings Programs

The federal government has created new savings programs.  One of them is for anyone regardless of disability or not: the Tax Free Savings Account.  Another one is for people with disabilities, including deafness:  the Registered Disability Savings Plan.

The CAD has encouraged the federal government to create a funding program that would assist organizations like ours to adapt information about TFSA and RDSP to meet the communication preferences of Deaf Canadians.  It would be similar to the funding program that helped us adapt information about RESP.  At this point, there has been no response from the government.
